READ THIS. 'nuff said

I'm committing blogicide. That means I'm killing my blog. Yay for my non-readers?
Nah, I'm just kidding. I'm merely retiring this blog. Which means I won't be posting here anymore.
Probably forever.

Though I'm leaving all my old posts here for memory's sake.
This is because:
*I'm waay fed up with the boring old templates.
*The email notification posts that friendster sends out every single bloody time I update OR edit my posts makes me feel guilty no end for inconveniencing my non-readers. For filling up their inbox, that is. (Actually, no. Cause you SHOULD be reading my blog in the first place. =P)
*The fact that friendster can't trust us to customize our own blogs, is an insult.
*Stupid, hard-to-read, itsy-bitsy font.
*I'm feel like killing friendster everytime it freezes and deletes my precious super-long post I spent almost an hour on. Grrr. Copy+Paste isn't infallible, you know?
*Picture limit.
*The way all the paragraphs are glommed together, making it a pain in the ass to read. (My posts are otherwise, only because I'm patient enough to hit Enter-Space-Enter, unlike some other mortals)
*I want to be a copycat and go on a (permanent) blogging hiatus, like Yi Ling.
Yeah, that said, friendster blogs aren't THAT bad. I guess.
So start cheering now, non-readers. No more stupid mail clogging up your precious inbox-es.

For my readers, don't lose all hope yet. For there is one consolation for you:
§narkie.blogspot.com!!!

My new and (much) improved blog. Not to mention it's WAY MORE READABLE.

Anyway, you can leave comments much easier there - you don't have to sign in. A point my sister has always made a note of. So now there are NO excuses for you not to leave a comment. If you don't...*snarl*

Sonnet 18

School has started again...and here is the good stuff:
♥I like most of my teachers
♥I like my seat in class
♥I got assigned to sweeping the floor, which isn't as good as whiteboard duty, but thank goodness I didn't have to deal with the stinky garbage.
♥I haven't gotten in trouble with any teachers yet, only the headmistress...but she's a nutcase anyway.

As for the bad stuff?
♣I totally didn't get into the class I wanted
♣BM and Sejarah is all subjective now!!! HELP!!!!
♣Our Chemistry lab tables got painted a fresh diaorrhea (sp?) brown. Ew.
♣...Sonnet 18

***If you haven't reached Form 4 yet, Sonnet 18 is a poem that we have to learn in English Literature.***

Ok, it isn't exactly bad, but it IS kinda hard to understand. I don't get why 'ol Shakespeare liked to twist his words around so much. Thank goodness for all the word-screwing pop/emo bands around nowadays, otherwise I'd still be at a total loss trying to understand this sonnet.

***

Here's William Shakespeare's (the original) version of Sonnet 18:

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature's changing course untrimm'd;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st;
Nor shall Death brag thou wander'st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st:
So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

***

Imagine your boyfriend read that to you...

BF:
*in sappy romantic tone* Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?...
      *finishes*
...so long lives this, and this gives life to thee. *proud smile*
You: *blank stare* What the...???

***

This is your cue to dump your boyfriend for  making an ass of himself trying to proclaim his love for you. And also the fact that he's not creative enough to write his own love poem, and ripped off the Bard's instead.

Besides, the girls of the new generation like guys to be more upfront and direct, right? No more stumping you with fancy words that will leave you going "uh..." in your boyfriend's crestfallen face.

***

Anyway, here's my simplified version of Sonnet 18:

The sun is hot,
But you are hotter.
The summer will end sometime (well, not in Malaysia),
But you'll be stuck with the your looks forever,
Which kinda sucks (no escaping the leers of hormanally-charged guys here).
Furthermore, that also applies even after death,
Which is creepy.
And as long as the minds of man do not deteriorate and start speaking cavemanspeak again,
You'll live forever through this sonnet. (Also assuming that the world doesn't go anti-poetry and destroys all things Shakespeare)
*And thus, the poor Form 4s will be stuck,
Analysing your love poem,
again and again.

Easy huh? Guess I shoud've taken Literature as an elective after all.

*That's just me bulllshitting. Don't mind me. My mind isn't fully functional yet. =P

Happy New Year!

Extremely belated, though it's the thought that counts...*nyeh*

Anyway, I had an uneventful New Year's Eve and Day in Singapore. In fact, everyone in the household was fast asleep (except  my mom and I.
Bad grammar! Bad grammar! *smacks self*) when half of the Lion City was ringing in the new year.
So, here are my new year's resolutions:

School:
*Always, ALWAYS finish my homework!
*Pay attention in class, instead of taking a nap and have the teacher bop me on my head with a text book in an effort to wake me up.
...Not this ever happened. Well, not in secondary school, anyway.
*Attend my co-curricular activities. No use hogging up the space allocated for members in popular clubs and not attending, huh?
*Be nice to my classmates, or at least try, TRY very hard. =)
*Don't piss any teachers off (not very badly, anyway) 'Tis gonna pretty tough, this one...T_T
*!...pfft, like that's gonna happen!
At home:
*Keep my room neat, no more dust bunnies in my nightmares, thanks.
*Clean out my wardrobe...I know, I should've done it during the holidays, but...
*Keep the storeroom neat.
Friends:
*Don't let them copy my homework.
*...Don't copy their homework.
*Be nice to them.
*Don't bitch about teachers and/or -certain- schoolmates.
*Remember their birthdays...*blush*

General:

*Only one hour of internet per day on weekdays (although there will be no limit on weekends)
*Sleep by at least 11pm every school night. =O
*Don't forget to watch Charmed and the OC (just started new seasons yesterday! *cheers*)
*Eat more. Healthy food, that is.
*Don't skip meals (except breakfast, since I cannot tolerate food within an hour of waking up)
*Don't lend out soon-to-be-mine Nintendo DS to anyone who is even the slightest bit irresponsible (though there is a possibility that I may be bribed *cough* choccies *cough*)
*Don't harass certain people to blog.
*Don't let people harass me to blog.
*...or not, since I'm still a minor =P
BLOG MORE!!!!! So you shall suffer, my poor readers...muhahahaha!!! Not that I'm making you read it, or anything like that. I'm much too nice. Hm, I'll let you have the pleasure of memorizing my whole blog instead, 'kay? I will test you when I next see you, since I'm so nice and hardworking now. =D

Oh yeah, and...
*STOP humming the numa numa dance song to myself. It's GOTTA be brain damaging somehow!!!
    ... ...maiah-hee...maiah-hooo...maiah-HAha!
*hums away to self*
------------------------------------------------------------
P.s. Extremely belated Christmas special coming up...hope my Xmas pressies haven't been eaten yet!
